24.08.2023- UNHCR Representative, Mr. Ivo Freijsen, the Head of Sub Office Beirut Mount Lebanon-UNHCR, Mr. Frederic Cussigh and the Assistant Public Health Officer-UNHCR, Mrs. Maguy Bou Tayeh visited the hospital and met with the General Director at RHUH Dr. Jihad Saadeh , the medical staff, Dr. Nawfal Nawfal, Member of the Board Committee and acting Head of Pediatric Division, Dr. Charlotte AlHajjar, the Head of OBGYN Division, and Mrs. Wahida Ghalayini, the Head of Nursing Department, who are relentlessly working to ensure the continuity of critical healthcare, especially during this time of crisis, for all people in need, including the refugees. They discussed the main challenges and changes the hospital faced during the economic crisis.
Afterwards, the delegation paid a visit to the OBGYN division, ER, Delivery Suite and the NICU to learn about the services and to discuss the current circumstances and situation with the medical team in order to further facilitate the secondary health care programme implemented through Next CARE.
