The Internal Medicine Division provides medical services in the following specialties:
Cardiology (Coronary Care Unit / CCU) – Cardiac Catheterization Unit: Invasive Cardiology Unit), Dermatology, Clinical Pharmacy, Psychiatry, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology (Endoscopy Unit), Geriatrics, Hematology-Oncology (Chemotherapy Unit), Immunology, Infectious Disease, Nephrology (Dialyses Unit), Neurology, Pulmonary and Intensive Care Division (Intensive Care Unit / ICU – Intermediate Care Unit / IMCU – Inhalation Therapy Unit), Rheumatology.
1. Cardiology:
A specialized hospital unit for the early care and treatment of heart-attack patients. (Coronary Care Unit / Cardiac Catheterization Unit) Coronary Care Unit: The CCU provides cardiac monitoring and specialized therapeutic modality for admitted patient. The RHUH Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is a — bed facility that is supported by a team of experienced nurses, case managers, clinical pharmacists, house staff, cardiology fellows and attending physicians who oversee the care and management of all the patients. The CCU staff cares for patients with acute myocardial infarction and complications including Cardiogenic Shock, post infarction angina and congestive heart failure. We also care for many other critically ill patients suffering from severe cardiomyopathies, valvular heart disease and life-threatening arrhythmias. Cardiac Catheterization Unit: At RHUH, Cardiac Catheterization Unit offers diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures in a single location, so you have convenient access to the latest imaging services, equipment and facilities.
The Invasive Cardiology Unit provides the following services:
– The Cardiac Catheterization / Interventional Cardiology Laboratory which performs: Right Heart Catheterization, Endomyocardial biopsy, Selective Coronary Arteriography, Coronary Balloon Angioplasty, Coronary Stenting, Intracoronary Brachytherapy, and Percutaneous Balloon Valvuloplasty.
– The Electrophysiology Laboratory is in the planning phase and will include: Electrophysiologic studies and the mapping of the heart, Radiofrequency Arrhythmia Ablation, Permanent Pace maker Implantation, and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (I C D).

2. Dermatology:
The Dermatology is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of skin disorders, as well as to advancing the field of dermatology.
3. Clinical Pharmacy:
The Clinical pharmacy provides comprehensive prescription drug management support and consulting services for our patients.
4. Psychiatry:
The Psychiatry offers comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric illness for adults and children (both inpatient and outpatient) through programs that apply the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques available.

5. Endocrinology :
The Endocrinology provides treatment of diseases and conditions associated with hormonal imbalance, damage to the glands that make hormones.
6. Gastroenterology:
The Gastroenterology Division provides prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the Gastro Intestinal Tract, Liver and Pancreas. The Endoscopy Unit at RHUH provides comprehensive gastrointestinal endoscopic service to our patients.
The unit is the setting for routine endoscopies such as colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening and polyp surveillance, upper endoscopy for the evaluation of ulcers and acid reflux disease and dilation of the esophagus for benign esophageal structures.

7. Geriatrics:
Our patient care extends from checkups and in-home care to preventive evaluations and complex diagnoses. We offer primary care and second opinions for older adults.

8. Hematology – Oncology Division:
The Hematology (Blood Disorder) provides diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the blood and bone marrow as well as of the immunologic, hemostatic (blood clotting) and vascular systems.
The Oncology division provides drug treatments for people with early and advanced cancers that affect the organs, muscles, bones and connective tissue.
Chemotherapy unit: The service supports the full spectrum of cancer sites in both pediatric and adult patients. It includes a tertiary referral service for allergenic stem cell transplantation. All chemotherapy delivery routes are covered e.g. intravenous, subcutaneous, oral, intrathecal and intrahepatic.

9. Immunology:
The Immunology provides treatment immune system related diseases and the cell-mediated and humeral aspects of immunity.
10. Infectious Disease:
The Infectious Disease provides specialist inpatient and outpatient Infectious Diseases services for the clinical diagnosis and management of adult patients with suspected or proven infections.
11. Nephrology:
The Nephrology provides diagnosis and treatment of kidney and renal disease.

12. Neurology Division:
The Division of Neurology provides expert clinical care for children with conditions ranging from epilepsy, headache, muscle and nerve disorders, critical illness, multiple sclerosis and pediatric stroke, among others.
13. Pulmonary and Intensive Care:
Pulmonology and Intensive care Unit provides care for infants, children and young adults with chronic and acute respiratory disorders. (Intensive Care Unit / Intermediate Care Unit / Inhalation Therapy Unit) Intensive Care Unit (ICU): the RHUH Intensive Care Units provide specialized care and treatment for
critically ill patients. Many of our ICUs offer specialization by various disciplines including cardiac care, neurosurgical, neonatal, pediatric and transplantation. Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU): The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at RHUH provides nursing care for patients who are too ill for the general Medical/Surgical Unit yet do not need an intensive level of care for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Patient care services vary widely, depending on each individual's
specific needs.
Inhalation Therapy Unit: Inhalation Therapy Service is committed to provide comprehensive care to our patients, including a variety of tests that are performed to evaluate and diagnose lung diseases.
i. Multidisciplinary adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU):
The ICU is a multidisciplinary unit providing critical medical care for adult and pediatric medical and surgical patients including post operative care, emergency care and patients with respiratory monitoring needs.
ii. Intermediate Care Unit:
This unit is currently in the planning phase.
14. Rheumatology:
The Rheumatology (arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders) provides treatment of arthritis and rheumatic diseases.
Allergy: provides treatment allergic diseases including hay fever, food allergies, atopic dermatitis, allergic asthma, and anaphylaxis.
